Welcome Page

Welcome! Thank you for choosing to visit.  I use this blog to share some of the daily affirmations that I write for myself.  I began writing affirmations around December of 2011 as a tool to help me in the process of change and to stay focused on the path of personal truth I have chosen to walk.

I believe that we all face many of the same challenges in life although they make look drastically different.  I have people close to me who have dealt with serious illness, loss of a child, PTSD, depression, child-hood abuse, and a slew of other difficulties that could leave anyone in a state of crisis.  I am hopeful that some of the affirmations I write to help me on my journey will resonate and help others as well.

Here are a few things to keep in mind and that may help frame the way you think about what you read here:

Purpose:

- To help me stay connected with myself emotionally and spiritually.

- To learn from, and give meaning to my life experiences.

- To create a supportive community where a common connection brings people together.

- To assist anyone who is engaged in the process of change and personal growth.

For your consideration:

- I value safe spaces.  Not enough people and places exist in our life where we can feel safe.  The kind of safety I envision is not a place where things are comfortable but a space that allows me to make mistakes, to be vulnerable, to be risky and dangerous.  It is a space I know I can do that because I am among others who are also willing to be vulnerable with me.  I hope for this to be one of those places.

- I respect choice and self-determination.  I value the right to choose my path and for others to do the same.

- No religion please.  Although you will likely find plenty of references to my connection to a Higher Power, prayer, and meditation, I recognize a wide variety of spiritual and religious beliefs and would not want conversations about specific belief systems to distract from the purpose of this blog.  Please keep discussions focused on spirituality by using inclusive terms.

- Please comment! I appreciate the effort you take to read and if you have thoughts to share I would love to hear them.  I learn a great deal form others and hearing how you see things helps me open new ways of understanding.

- If you enjoy what you find please share it with others who may benefit.

I believe the wounds and trauma that life creates can be healed.  Thank you for joining me on my journey and I wish you well in yours. Walking together is so much nicer!
